In the impératif présent this ending is for :

  • the verbs ending -er (first conjugation) e.g. aimer (aime), jouer (joue), créer (crée), etc.

  • and fifteen verbs ending -ir (of the third conjugation) e.g. offrir (offre), ouvrir (ouvre), cueillir (cueille), etc.

 

 

Exceptions:

 

The verbs avoir, savoir, vouloir use another stem such as follows:

  • aie

  • sache

  • veuille (1ère forme)
